The school year has started again...for public, private, and homeschool students alike. It seemed like a great time to interview Gail Nelson, founder and editor of Learning Tangent Homeschool Magazine. Know this up front: Despite the title, Learning Tangent isn't just for homeschoolers. In fact, it's a great resource for any parent or teacher.
Kirsten had a meaty dialogue with Gail that we'll be bringing to you in three parts over the next week or two. In this first segment of the discussion, though, she asked Gail to share a bit about what Learning Tangent is all about, how the magazine came to be, what it currently offers to readers/subscribers, and where the publication is headed.
One fact right up front that we're betting will recommend Learning Tangent to anyone reading this blog...
The magazine takes no advertising for any product or service aligned to the Common Core State Standards--a principled editorial decision on Gail's part that we at Resounding Books heartily applaud.
Enjoy this first part of the interesting ground that Kirsten and Gail were able to cover.
